[ Business Development Specialist ]

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for supporting business development initiatives for the firm’s various litigation practices, as well as assisting partners in the execution of their business development activities. As a key resource in ensuring the day-to-day business development functions are covered, the Business Development Specialist is expected to seamlessly execute and oversee projects driving the firm’s relationships with clients and potential clients.

Responsibilities: 

  • Plan, prepare, and assemble pitches and proposals.
  • Track updates to matter descriptions and attorney bios.
  • Regularly meet with partners and periodically with associates to support their individual BD efforts.
  • Coordinate a range of business development projects, including events, meetings, international trips, and conferences.
  • Work closely with the Communications team to ensure that marketing tactics and strategies are bolstering business development.
  • Liaise with the in-house analyst team to gather research and analyses on market trends, clients, prospects, competitor activity, opportunities, and more.
  • Support the development of submissions to legal directories and similar industry guides (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500, and Benchmark Litigation).
  • Oversee the development and use of the firm’s CRM system (InTapp).
  • Assist the Chief Marketing Officer and Communications Manager on other initiatives as requested. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree at an accredited university.
  • At least 3 or more years of experience in a law firm, preferably in a litigation firm.
  • Knowledge and experience of law firm operations, as well as an understanding of litigation case cycles and demands.
  • Excellent oral, writing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational and project management skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Friendly and enthusiastic disposition and ability to work collaboratively with people at various levels within the firm.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

This is a non-exempt position and the annual salary range for this role is $95,000 to $115,000, commensurate with experience. This salary range reflects estimated base salary.  Total cash compensation will be higher when factoring in overtime, year-end bonus and benefits.
