Law360 Recognizes Lena Konanova as Rising Star

Partner Lena Konanova has been named to Law360’s prestigious “Rising Stars” list in recognition of her work on behalf of consumers in major class action lawsuits.

One of only three attorneys in the entire country to be awarded in the area of consumer protection, Lena currently represents teachers, nurses, first responders and other public servants in an ongoing class action against student loan servicer Navient and the U.S. Department of Education (Navient stands accused of misleading borrowers about qualifying for federal loan forgiveness while U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos and the Department of Ed. are charged with failing to properly administer multiple public service loan forgiveness programs).

Konanova told Law360, “I love taking on clients who come to us feeling like they have nowhere else to turn. We intend to prove that the misrepresentations [Navient] is making to borrowers are eligible for class treatment and relief.”

She added, “this really plays into where I think this practice area is going; which is during difficult economic times, and times when society is undergoing fundamental transformations that the internet and technology are facilitating, there are always going to be new challenges for how consumers interact with service providers and seemingly endless opportunities for companies to effectively take advantage of those consumers.”
