Ellie earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where she was a content editor for The Regulatory Review and a production editor for The Journal of Law and Social Change.
While in law school, Ellie was a pro bono volunteer with the Youth Education Program for the School District of Philadelphia and a legal intern for the Legal Clinic for the Disabled and Interdisciplinary Child Advocacy Clinic in Philadelphia. She was also a legal writing instructor, and summer associate at Selendy Gay.
