Emaline earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School. She graduated from Yale University in 2017 with a B.A. in Literature with distinction in the major. Afterwards, she moved to Berlin with the support of a Fulbright grant and completed a M.A. in Allgemeine und Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft (General and Comparative Literature) at Freie Universität.

During law school, she served as an Articles Editor for the Columbia Journal of Gender and Law and worked as a legal intern for the California Department of Justice in San Francisco, an extern for FWD.us, and an immigration legal intern at the Urban Justice Center in New York City.
