
Julie Singer is a litigator with experience in a wide array of complex litigation matters in federal and state courts. In her commercial practice, Julie has represented clients in high-stakes corporate governance, shareholder, securities, structured finance, and bankruptcy disputes, among other subject areas.
Best Lawyers named Julie to its 2026 “Ones to Watch in America” list, which recognizes rising legal talent across the nation for excellence in their respective fields. Julie was recognized for her achievements in the commercial litigation category. Julie was also named to Super Lawyers' 2026 "Rising Stars" list, recognizing her outstanding work in the New York metropolitan area.
Julie also maintains an active public interest and pro bono practice. She currently represents the AAUP, its Harvard chapter, and the UAW in challenging the federal government’s unlawful and retaliatory termination of federal funding to Harvard University and infringement on academic freedom, resulting in a historic judgment restoring more than $2.2 billion in funding and an injunction protecting free speech. Julie also recently helped author an amicus brief in Supreme Court case United States v. Skrmetti concerning gender-affirming healthcare.
Prior to joining Selendy Gay, Julie served as a law clerk for the Honorable Ann M. Donnelly of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Julie earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan, where she served as an Articles Editor for the Michigan Journal of Gender and Law and volunteered for the Civil Rights Litigation Clearinghouse.
