Madeleine earned her J.D from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she was the Executive Editor of the Minnesota Journal of International Law and her student note was published in Volume 35 of MJIL.

While in law school she was also a Student Director and Student Attorney in the Civil Rights Appellate Clinic, and Co-President of the Asylum Law Project. Madeleine was a Quarterfinalist in the 2025 Moot Court National Championship and won the 2024 Gender and Sexuality Moot Court Competition. She was a legal extern for Magistrate Judge John F. Docherty, U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, and UN Women, and a summer law clerk for Lockridge Grindal Nauen PLLP.
