Alexander Kristofcak is a litigator and former federal prosecutor with experience in high-profile civil and criminal matters. He has particular expertise in government enforcement actions, fraud investigations, dispositive motions, and appeals.
Prior to joining Selendy Gay, Alex was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office, Civil Division for the Southern District of New York. In this role, he served as lead counsel on a broad range of matters, including tort, employment, immigration, civil fraud, and Bivens lawsuits. Previously, Alex served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division for the Southern District of California. He also clerked for the Honorable Kenneth Lee of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Honorable John Koeltl of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Alex earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law, where he was a Butler Scholar, a Furman Scholar, and the Notes Editor for New York University Law Review. His scholarship appeared in the New York University Law Review and Gonzaga Law Review. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Alex began his career in the financial services field, serving as Principal at Deerfield Management and Equity Research Associate at Credit Suisse First Boston.
